Proc: Study of Mechnical Properties of Diamon-like Carbon and Nanocomposite Diamond Coatings Prepared by Several Different Deposition Techniques
Proceedings of International Workshop on the Application of Nanocrystalline Diamond and Diamond Like Carbon Materials (2006) pp.27-37
Published by Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India
The depth sensing indentation test and continuous stiffness measurement will be introduced as a very powerfull tools for study of mechanical properties of diamond-like carbon and nanostructured carbon coatings. Several types of diamond-like coatings prepared with different technologies at different laboratories will be investigated and their properties such as hardness, elastic modulus, fracture toughness, adhesion to the substrate etc. will be compared. The results will be completed by AFM, SEM and ellipsometric studies on the given samples.
