Optical properties of diamond-like carbon films

n this paper the optical properties of very hard amorphous diamond-like films were studied by means of the spectral dependences of reflectance and transmittance measured in the visible and near-IR regions. The way in which the refractive and absorption indices depend on deposition parameters was determined. The microhardness, IR transparency, electron diffraction and electric properties were studied as well.
